City to Overhaul Echelon-II and IV Officials

The city administration is about to overhaul the Jakarta echelon-II officials in order to optimize the government operational in Jakarta. The overhaul will be focused on officials who lead the departments and agencies.

"We will overhaul echelon-II officials on August 11-12, 2014. The proposal has been sent to the Regional Legislation Body (Balegda)," said City Secretary, Saefullah, Saturday (8/9).

Saefullah disclosed similar thing would also be imposed to echelon-IV officials. There will be a replacement of the excess staff in institutions to the institutions that require more employees. "We also plan to overhaul echelon-IV officials," he expressed.

Echelon II Reshuffle Awaits for Presidential Election

According to him, such policy initiated by Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama is aimed for employee efficiency and expected all can work well and optimize. "As I know, the number of employees serving in Public Works Department is quite a lot. We'll do coordination with other departments thus all can be aligned," he explained.

He stated that there are reportedly several officials who would be replaced, namely Head of Public Works Department Umum Manggas Rudi Siahaan and Head of Jakarta Financial Management Body (BPKD) Endang Widjajanti, as well as Head of Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD) I Made Karmayoga.

In addition, an official who intends to resign is Head of Education Department Lasro Marbun. As for the information, the massive overhaul against Echelon-II officials already done twice. The first was held on February 14, 2013, in which 20 officials mutated.

Second was conducted on on 33 Echelon-II officials. 7 of them were stationed as a member of the Governor's Team for Development Supervision (TGUPP). Its inauguration, held ​​on February 12, 2014.
